Feline 'Onyx Kittybox'

~ Deep and out of sight kitty Litter ~
‘Recently my bathroom was retailed with Grey slate tiles and
miss shas kitty box so stuck out like a sore thumb. Originally I used a kitty box which had a cover but was bright and ghastly but Sha still managed to flick her pebbles everywhere! Nothing worse than walking barefoot and having pebbles sticking to your feet. Plus the typical shape of these boxes just seem to stick out of under things being to square. Whilst the renovations was going on I used a temporary plastic storage crate which worked a treat with NO flicked out pebbles! But still an eyesore. So I made an Egyptian themed industrial/hardware strength storage crate in my perfect size "perfect' the extra thick plastic is even easier to clean out the soiled litter, so read on and enjoy 'how would you thee your kitty box? Feel free to post a pick of you end product if you do in the comments box below. Don't forget there’s more post Links at the end of this creation, enjoy :D'

... Sha chills whilst I get to work
... Before and After - From a bright yellow kitty box (which was deep with cover but Sha still managed to flick her pebbles everywhere) to the temp deep clear plastic storage box I used whilst the bathroom renovations was going on to the replaced 'Onyx Kittybox' DIY
... Gather all materials and some inspirational pieces of Art you want to work from. I used a hieroglyph Bird Magnet and an Old papyrus card from Egypt. The Industrial Box I used wasn't as deep as typical boxes as to not stick out like a sore thumb but it was 4 inches in height (which means no stepping on pebbles with your bare feet - urghhh and yaye) and extra wide 9 inches (longer than the average kitty box) Be sure to use industrial strength or heavy duty storage boxes they are so much easier to clean and scoop - you actually find soiled litter is easier to remove
... Use the gold marker to write down in freehand Hieroglyphs and allow to dry. If you make an error just wipe with rag and mineral turp and the wipe off turp with warm water and rag
... Lay out blobs of paint with a Brush for each on a egg carton bottom turned upside down. The carton also makes great brush holders as your working. Paint away stripes around the rim
... Allow the box to dry well for a few hours but clean your brushes immediately (otherwise you'll have to ditch them) A little trick I've picked up is have brushes for Acrylic only, Oil based only, Water based color only etc (Never mix them even when cleaned for flawless work) I actually placed the box on top of the shower screen which sat under the heat fans which halved the drying time. Then fill with the litter and rest the scoop with notch on the rim for quick access
